<<<<<<<<<(why am I doing that I've not even got a pic added) says 'Allo' (but now I have - took me a while though)

Have I got anything to say about myself by way of introduction...nah not at present. I'll just bide my time and drop the odd bit of information in every now and again. Feel free to make up anything interesting.

Hi,

I'm Mike, and i'm from Manchester, originally from Rotherham.

Been into EC for a good few years now, must have seen them about 6 or 7 times, and I was a fan of Lyca Sleep before them. I've viewed the forum now and again for a while, but I thought it was time I made myself a member.

I absolutely CANNOT wait til April when the album comes out. It's been a long time coming, but i'm sure it'll be worth the wait as they have matured like a fine wine. I think i'd say 'All On You' is my favourite track but they're all top drawer, let's face it!

Happy new year to everyone.

Well,technically I'm not a new poster,but I'll introduce myself anyway.
I'm Jason from Brazil. I've been on the NS forum for a long time and I am obviously a big fan of the Verve.
I was introduced to Exit Calm in 2007,I believe and I instantly became impressed with their sound, however I wasn't so sure if they were 'the real deal'..Maybe the early demos didn't show me what they were truly capable of.
But then their live videos completely changed that:their performances were getting better and better and sometimes I wonder how good they'll become! Now,having listened to With Angels and All on You,I'm completely sold.
I really think they have the potential to be the best band I've ever heard.

Be well.

Hi, I thought I better stop lurking and register. I came across Exit Calm after following Daniel Land and The Modern Painters in 2009 and I can't wait to get the album especially after seeing them at Moho and the Deaf Institute. I really missed the boat with Lyca Sleep so I'm putting that right :)

Mainly Painters as I started going to see them in 2008 around Manchester (The Roadhouse album launch was a great night)and Oasis at Heaton Park although I saw the insect guide at dry. Now Oasis have split Painters and Exit are my main bands so no doubt I will be seeing both sometime in 2010.

Hi,

Many, many thanks to those who have sent me tracks.

I am assuming AOY is the album download off the website, and in which case thanks for that too!

Mike

Got interested in Exit Calm through watching one of my favourite Verve performances on youtube (Life's an Ocean - Jools Holland) and seeing a recommendation comment underneath. Since then I have been hooked, a truly epic sound.

Went along to the Garage on Friday and was blown away, gutted the set was as short as it was. Left quite early seeing as the Twang were pretty boring and the Rifles were understandably a no-show. Looking forward to hopefully making it along to St Moritz on the 17th and hearing perhaps the first band I have been truly excited about for a long, long time.

Can't wait for the album!

I think you may be the bloke that was behind me at the gig? You mentioned a similar story about Verve, etc.

If so, alright fella, welcome to the board :thumb:
